 Scapa Flow June 2011

Club TripSpend a week diving the historic wrecks of Scapa Flow and the Orkney Isles from the Orkneys largest liveaboard dive boat, M.V. Invincible. Situated on the North East coast of Scotland, Scapa Flow is a large natural harbour and resting place to seven battleships of the German Fleet scuttled on the orders of Admiral Von Reuter at the end of WW1 - June 21, 1919. This is probably the finest wreck diving location in the UK, a must for enthusiasts.

Here a link to a video of the boat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qtmdas3BSl4

Trip Cost will be £400 plus travel this is for B&B Accommodation aboard the boat and all you diving.

Please contact Mark for more info

 Barrow-Upon-Soar Barge Trip.

Club Trippedro writes "
Come and join us on a cruise through the Leicestershire canal and river net work aboard the barge boat 'Blackbird'.

Ropes off will be 9am from Barrow upon Soar arriving back at 5pm.

The price will be £15 pp for the charter of the barge, insurance, fuel for the day and a jolly old skipper!!!!. We shall be stopping for refreshments and lunch during the day so you will need to budget for this as well.

The date will be June 27th and I have 12 spaces at the moment. If we get enough interest I may be able to make more spaces available. Friends and family are more than welcome but club members will take priority however I will try and accommodate everyone.

Please contact me or grab me at the pool to book a place.

Regards

Pete Nicholls

 St Abbs

Club Trippedro writes "
On the 19th/20th June I will be running a club trip to St Abbs

Two days diving from the hard boat Topline including air fills will come to a total of £60 per person.

Accommodation will be organised when I have a firm idea of numbers but will more than likely be a mixture of BB and camping. Camping is approx. £15pn per tent. BB is approx. £30 pppn.

Travel needs to be considered but at approx. £80 per vehicle round trip the normal arrangments of car sharing keep this cost nice and low too.

All members are welcome and will be accommodated for regardless of qualification, so please come and join us for some fantastic scenic diving. If you've never dived in the UK before than you couldn't wish for a better place to start.

I have 12 places which will be given on a first come first serve basis . Once a £40 deposit is received your place will be secured.

Safe diving.

 Swanage.

Club Trippedro writes "
27th/30th of August I will be organising various dives to suit all levels from Swanage. 27th and 28th will be aimed at Sports Diver ( at our descretion ) and above. The dives will include wrecks such as the Firth Fisher, Bettsey Anne, HMS Carantan and of course the Kyarra. These are just a few ideas at the moment and not set in stone.

29th/30th of August will be aimed at ocean diver and above including people still undergoing training and not yet qualified. All diving will be tailored around the divers present and with such a variety of diving in the area to suit all levels we should, with a bit of planning, be able to cater for all.

27th/28h will be hard boat diving with two ribs available for the diving on 29th/30th. Not forgetting the Pier Dive available to all any time.

Accommadation will be self catering bunkhouse or camping.

For those wishing to join us on the 27th/28th the  price will be £85 pp for the two days including BB bunkhouse accommadation. For the 29th/30th untill I have numbers it's hard to say but it will be in the region of £60pp for the weekend.

St Abbs Dive Weekend 23 to 25 May 2009

Club TripGraham writes "I plan to organise a dive weekend to St Abbs in Berwickshire for the 3 days of the Spring Bank Holiday, 23 to 25 May 2009. It will be suitable for all qualiifed divers and for Ocean Diver trainees with suitable experience of diving to 20 metres in Stoney Cove beforehand.

Given it's a popular diving destination at that time of year, I would like to get some idea of numbers asap so that I can make provisional bookings. Other than transport, 2008 costs were £12 per dive (£24 for 2 dives per day) from a hard boat. Camping/caravannig was £12 per night per pitch plus £1 per person. Bed and breakfast was £50 or £65 per night for 2 persons sharing at Rhovanion. You needn't dive all 3 days. If the boat can't go out, there is no dive fee. Shore diving may be available instead dependent on weather conditions.

For further information, write ups of the last 2 years St Abbs trips are on the branch web site.
Please let me know the days you wish to dive and the number of dives per day and if you require a camp/caravan pitch. My e-mail address is glbrookes@hotmail.com. Once the trip is confirmed, a deposit will be required for the dive boat and camp site pitches. Those who B&B should book direct.

Graham
