Graham writes "I plan to organise a dive weekend to St Abbs in Berwickshire for the 3 days of the Spring Bank Holiday, 23 to 25 May 2009. It will be suitable for all qualiifed divers and for Ocean Diver trainees with suitable experience of diving to 20 metres in Stoney Cove beforehand.
Given it's a popular diving destination at that time of year, I would like to get some idea of numbers asap so that I can make provisional bookings. Other than transport, 2008 costs were £12 per dive (£24 for 2 dives per day) from a hard boat. Camping/caravannig was £12 per night per pitch plus £1 per person. Bed and breakfast was £50 or £65 per night for 2 persons sharing at Rhovanion. You needn't dive all 3 days. If the boat can't go out, there is no dive fee. Shore diving may be available instead dependent on weather conditions.
For further information, write ups of the last 2 years St Abbs trips are on the branch web site.
Please let me know the days you wish to dive and the number of dives per day and if you require a camp/caravan pitch. My e-mail address is
glbrookes@hotmail.com. Once the trip is confirmed, a deposit will be required for the dive boat and camp site pitches. Those who B&B should book direct.
